Review: | "Following a first-time visitor to the 'City of Lights,' viewers get an overview of Paris and its most popular sights. Similar to EVN's video 738V- Paris: Je t'aime, this basic video is intended as an introduction to Paris and to the French language. The French narration is accompanied by French subtitles, so students will be able to both see and hear the language and start to make connections between the two. Beginning students will be able to get an idea of unfamiliar words by watching the images of museums, monuments, and Metro cars. The video can be used with more advanced students as well. The brief histories of the museums and monuments are particularly good. The editing is good and the video flows at a nice, even pace. The accompanying accordion soundtrack adds a touch of je ne sais quoi to the overall production. This would be a fine supplement to the foreign language or social studies curriculum."
