Review: | The program offers basic information about color and light. Using a Power Point like format supplemented with video examples, the video is organized into definitions of light and color, properties of light, light and matter, why we see color, how the eye perceives color, and the impact of color and light on art and technology. The very clear explanations are enhanced with timed sequential text. Detailed drawings, including that of the eye, provide the visuals necessary for viewer understanding. Although the facts are fundamental, the graphic representations of color formation are interesting. The use of color in art is described as a very powerful tool, triggering specific moods. Finally, the use of light and color in technology, from incandescent light to florescent light, to lasers, offer a glimpse of future potential. The program will be a good overview for secondary science classes.
