Review: | "The epidemic of teenage pregnancy continues to plague our society at an alarming rate. This video helps to dispel the myths of why teenagers choose to become pregnant by outlining factors that influence them to become sexually active, such as hormones, peer pressure, pressure from the media, curiosity, alcohol and drug use, and a desire for intimacy. Misconceptions that exist about becoming pregnant are discussed and clearly resolved, as are the realities of teen pregnancy and parenthood. Sexually transmitted diseases are discussed. Contraception, along with abstinence, is indicated as a means of preventing pregnancy. This video provides a factual and structured coverage of the issues of teen pregnancy using average-looking teenagers in realistic depictions of teenage sexual and parenting behaviors. The focus is on making responsible choices and not using sexual activity and pregnancy as a means to obtain emotional intimacy or to promote one's own elf-esteem. Study questions and objectives are available online at the companies web site. This video would be an appropriate addition to a study of teenage pregnancy in high school health or family living classes."
